Flat and Tiled Roofs

Our built up felt roofs are made with ‘Top Grade Anderson/Marley Felt System’. Available in two or three layers, designed around your budget.

All flat roofs are stripped totally of the old felt and this is then cleared from your home. The decking is checked and if needed replaced (at an additional cost). An underlay is installed and second and third layers torched on, leaving a green or brown mineral finish with no chippings.

Slate or tiled roofs are stripped back to the felt and batten. The felt and timbers are inspected, we will advise of any rot or decay. We then replace the felt and batten, re-tile the roof with an appropriate slate or tile. All hips and ridge riles are carefully re-bedded with the correct mortar mix.

Finally, our Installation Manager prior to the access equipment being removed will inspect the whole job. The whole installation carried a 10 year guarantee.

We know you will be proud of your new roof.

Flat to Pitched Roof Conversion

As aesthetically, a pitched roof looks far better than a flat roof many customers have asked us to change their roofline.

This area of our business has now developed into a specialised area. Often just doing one house in a road will lead to other homeowners asking to have their roofs changed.

The existing felt roof stays ‘in-situ’, we pitch a new timber roof on top of the existing roof. This makes for a stronger structure. We then felt and batten before we tile in a style appropriate to your home. All abutments are made good with lead flashings, tiles or an appropriate sealant.

Roof Preparation and Cleaning

Another specialist area of our business that has developed from our customer requests is cleaning and treating roofs whilst we are undertake fascia, soffit or guttering work. Moss grows on the mineral finish of concrete tiles and continues to grow back time after time. We have a system of cleaning that slows down and even stops the re-growth of moss.

After cleaning the roof, we also clean all the gutters and surrounding areas. Roof cleaning is carried out before any other work is undertaken to protect your new fascia, soffits etc.

Cleaning and treating roofs usually takes two days and is only carried out while we are undertaking other work and is not a stand alone service.

Re-Felting and Batten Existing Roofs

If your roof is leaking, why not have it refelted.  We strip of all the tiles from the whole of the roof, remove old felt and batten, supply and install new felt, re-batten and re-place and fix the original tiles.  At the same time we re-bed any verges, installing new cloaking tiles.
